Jiamin Wu

Jiamin earned his PhD from the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he focused on developing needle-free delivery technologies for proteins and peptides to enable pain-free therapies. His innovative research has received widespread media coverage, including features on Global News and CBC News. With a strong passion for translating research into practical solutions, Jiamin was awarded a Lab-to-Market grant from MITACS to advance his work. He is a co-inventor on five patents, one of which has been successfully licensed to industry. His achievements have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Controlled Release Society (CRS) Young Scientist Travel Grant (one of only two awardees in Canada) and the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad, both in 2023. Jiamin joins Dr. Hai-Quan Mao’s lab as a postdoctoral researcher in January 2025, where he will focus on overcoming biological barriers to advance the delivery of biologics.
